This Week On the Web: Nonsense Ramblings and Random Snaps

This Week On the Web: Nonsense Ramblings and Random Snaps

I was so sucked out of energy at work that I spent my whole weekend just snoozing at the couch with my dog also nodding off at the floor (and he stinks). I just had one full meal of junk food yesterday, thanks to the short distance of McDo from the apartment and today I just ate breakfast and dinner. The rest is lost in wonderland.

That lazy day when you just want to lie around and do nothing comes too often right now. Perhaps this could be stress – or just pure slacking-off.

I spent quite some time over the net, sniffing for what’s new and what could be explored. I just don’t feel like writing anything “informative” right now like how-to’s, what’s cool, yada, yada.

I just want to be lost in oblivion and carry on sleeping for a century. Oh, this is a major issue. Perhaps I have problems with commitment. I wanna write about how The Avengers took my brain off my head, I wanna share how I spent Earth Day by recycling things at home. Yet the writer within me is so trapped on being a slob that I can’t even raise a finger to create a nice entry. But what do I call this entry then? Just a product of my thoughtless musings.

I have a detailed list of what I’ll write for my blog. But I’m just too distracted to start it off. Where are my entries? Crossed out. Gone. Forgotten. They were written off like a bad debt. That’s it. Perhaps I’ll be luckier the following days though.

This slot is nothing but my tired ruminations. If you happen to get a sense out of it then it must be a mistake. Nevertheless, I managed to at least compile the following from my short-lived visit on the web.

Lookbook Fantasies

Randomness

The week has ended. I smell another coming up. Hope this one’s different.

Note: I do not own any of these pics. I’m just sharing them.

What Would You Wear Aboard Titanic?

What Would You Wear Aboard Titanic?

Titanic

Huge. Grand. Splendid. The Titanic is the finest cruise ship that epitomizes the love of men for pleasure even at the midst of the ocean. Being the grandest, and most tragic shipwreck of all time, who wouldn’t be captured by the story of this sunken ship?

The ship was crafted beautifully. Seeing her interior details alone (in the movie) is enough to leave my jaws in awe. I want the ship to take me back into the lavish lifestyle of the rich in the nineteen hundreds. How sad it is that such beauty has to face a very tragic predicament. Sometimes I do wonder, how lovely could it have been if I was there on-board (sans the sinking though) and given that I was among those occupying the upper deck of the socialites.

The Titanic sunk on the 15th of April 1912 – that’s about a hundred years back. A century has already passed, but the fatal demise of what’s considered as the largest ship long ago still sends shivers into my spine.

On the other hand, just to lighten things up, I found these fashion sets featuring clothes that I think I’d pack down and wear while finding my own little forbidden love in the ocean and aboard the famous ship.

my heart will go on
What Would You Wear on the Titanic?
Titanic ..... so sad

This one’s mine (arrow down):

In commemoration of Titanic’s Centennial Anniversary, Titanic the movie is showing in cinemas now and in 3D. Fancy going back in time? Catch the movie (preferably with your guy) and witness a typical love story in a tragic way.

Just remembered: I was in third grade when this movie became a hit. I can’t forget how popular the OST “My Heart Will Go On” by Celine Dion was. Sigh. Those were the days.

Product of A Sleepless Night

Product of A Sleepless Night

I can’t sleep tonight and as a result, here’s what my creative juices came up with. . .

Sometimes boredom does make you a bit artistic.

Modern Classic

What inspired me: I’m not so sure but I think I saw Mischa Barton wearing a very classy white top along with a pair of jeans; it looks really cute on her!

Just for Lazy Afternoons

What inspired me: I like the idea of not doing anything in a sunny, lazy afternoon. The thought of just laying around in a fine spot and drowning myself over a book sends giggles to my brain. Aaah, the life!

Stroll at the Park

What inspired me: I am fond of parks. In fact, no matter how public is that kind of place I feel so comfortable hangin’ out around it. I eat “dirty” ice creams, buy balloons and just enjoy the shade given by big, leafy trees whenever I do visit the spot. Quezon City Circle is one fine park but they say that there’s something new with Ecopark. . . Perhaps I should drop by some time.

Spring Floral

What inspired me: A girl can never go wrong with floral prints. It gives her a distinct sense of femininity and style. Whenever I see and wear florals, it reminds me of beautiful gardens and lush, green sceneries.

‘Hope you like my creations!

BOTW: Budget Fashionista

BOTW: Budget Fashionista

BOTW = Blog of the Week

Hello, friends! Meet The Budget Fashionista, a beauty and fashion site that can instantly become your bestfriend!

The Budget Fashionista

Owner: Kathryn Finney

I came across this site when I was scouting for resources for one of my cosmetic entries, the “Yes Girl, Make-ups Expire.” Although the site’s over-all appearance and format is simple (just a white background and sporadic pictures), my peepers instantly gave it attention because it looks very classy. I think that The Budget Fashionista is a rather gigantic girl-site already (it has a book, by the way) – and so I won’t be surprised why this online space is so well-pulled together.

Why you must visit it:

  • Budget Fashionista will teach you how to become beautiful while keeping your wallet intact
  • It is a one-stop place for all things you need to know regarding beauty, fashion, shopping, steals, and deals
  • You’ll get the latest scoop about celebrity fashion styles
  • It provides heavenly tips for clueless femmes about using make-up and creating a look
  • You’ll be updated about fashion trends – what’s hot, and what’s not!
  • The page is clean, there aren’t too many (or humongous) ads grazing the whole screen
  • It shouts girl power!

The Drawbacks:

  • Deals posted are only for US-based consumers (sigh)
  • It caters more to mature young/old adults – young teens can’t relate to some posts that much

Fashion Blog Finds

Fashion Blog Finds

Today, I did some blog-searching over the net to find inspiration from other bloggers and to just sneak around in their world. I’ve found blogs that are REALLY so fabulous and adorable I couldn’t help but get jealous! If my blog is compared to theirs, mine will be like a tiny seed and theirs will be like a tall, sturdy, tree already!

I’m not really into fashion, but  I really adore these blogs that I came across with.

Camille Tries to Blog

I don’t know if it’s just me or Camille is just one hot Siren blogger!

Camille, owner of Camille Tries to Blog

Her blog is really “high-fashion.” She posts about her latest fash activities and ultra-feminine looks. I’m not really a trend guru but if I can rate her style I’d label it as classy and glamorous. Check out her blog giveaways too – super expensive items! I just sooooo wish my blog can be like hers someday!

Female Network

Female Network, the site for online Filipinas

Actually, Female Network is not just a blog – it is a site sponsored by Summit Media (the leading publisher of popular Philippine magazines). I definitely love this site. It’s very informative, girly, and fun to read! It has categories of almost all things that interest girls like fashion, beauty, relationships, etc. It offers tips from simply taking care of your body to repairing a broken relationship. And what I really adore about this site are the freebies and contests! Seriously, I can spend the whole day reading posts in this online network. If you are a smart gal, then you’d really love this!

I ultimately like one of the site’s posts about single women. You can check out the link and read the post about songs that reveal the power of being single.

Bookmarked

Don’t give me that look – I know this one is not a fashion blog, but I just think it deserves to be in my list here today. This blog is all about books. It is owned and managed solely by Blooey Singson , a self-confessed book addict who claims to hoard tons of books wherein she can almost make a house out of it.

I know there are gazillions more blogs out there which are just sitting pretty in the nooks and crannies of the Internet (like what Chopstick Lady is doing). I know I wouldn’t be able to explore everything – but taking a peak from time to time of what bloggers before me are doing with their blog gives me the inspiration to just continue my writing interest.

If you’ve got blogs to share, do give me a quick message!

That’s it – till next blog-spotting!
